FAQ and TutorialsFAQ
How long have you been drawing?
I've been drawing since I was a kid. I've always kept a sketchbook and pencil with me and I've always loved art. I got really into drawing several years ago though when I joined dA back in October 2006.
Have you taken any art classes?
Yes, over the past couple years I have taken art classes in portrait, figure, still life, and landscape drawing and painting which have been extremely helpful. Before I started taking classes though, I practiced a lot on my own. I taught myself and I figured out what things worked for me and what things did not. If you are looking to improve it is so important to teach yourself by practicing.
How long does it take you to complete a drawing?
Anywhere from 1-25 hours. It really depends on the detail, size, and how patient I am at the time.
What size paper do you use?
I usually work on 9" x 12"- 18" by 24" and all standard sizes in between those. Also, sometimes I will custom cut my paper.
EasterRemember what you love,
you with sand in your teeth
and the feral burn of hunger
in your eyes.
God sends his regrets.
He made you grasping and slow,
in a late hour
when the wine washed low.
Remember what you love.
Fall to your knees in the toss
and the swell, quell
the appetite of the cold black sea.
Beg blessings for your home
and the salt-sick trees.
Reach what lies near:
the fat-faced child, the sweet-soft lamb;
tether the tantrum, trickle the blood.
Offer psalms to what is holy,
whisper the name of what you love
as it bobs in the bleak mad sea.
